In creating the White Paper for Valley of the Vampires, a new gamified fantasy roleplay universe based on Vampires, we considered how important it was to remain neutral about educating the world about Vampires, but how important it is to allow users to immerse themselves into unique Vampiric art experiences.

Vampiric Music NFT Artpieiece

NFT Art for New Forms of Vampiric Cultural Expression

The photo above is a unique NFT Art Piece called “Vampiric Musical Notation”. This NFT includes original audio content and written text that describe Vampiric music, its history and the rules around its composition. The meaning of the symbols in the original art piece are also explained generally, with a lot of room for new artistic creation within the guidelines/suggestions that are unlocked with the NFT.

The suggestions are really open ended enough to give guidance, but not so draconian as to stiltify the creative impulse.

Improv and DevOps inspire Decentralization

DarkDealings has been playing around with Developmental Operations (DevOps) concepts for a while now and we notice how much DevOps borrows techniques from Improvisational Theatre. We think that’s cool and are extending that spirit into our own development.

Most Improv shows have an algorithmic system running in the background that the audience isn’t aware of. The most common of these systems is called The Harold. The audience controls two factors, the energy in the room and the content of the show.

Improv troops will ask the audience for random suggestions and build complete plays, mock TV episodes or movie scenes out of those suggestions.

The only thing the actors have to rely on is their system and their experience. DarkDealing is building the Valley of the Vampires Decentralized Metaverse based partly on this concept; allow users to explore freely, keep working with suggestions.

The Road to Decentralization and Gamification

The image above is a piece of NFT art. Described as a Vampiric Charm, this ‘Key’ to the Vampire’s Code, is a key component of the honorable Vampiric Storytelling Tradition.

This particular NFT contains unlockable content which describes instructions for how it can be used within the context of the Valley of the Vampires. The owner of this NFT doesn’t have to necessarily develop Vampiric Charms for Vampiric Storytelling Experiences, but can lend out the developer’s guidelines that come with the NFT.

It is proposed in our white paper that the NFT owner will earn for ‘Contributing to Vampiric Culture’, while the Artist creating new NFTs based on the borrowed instructions will earn income for ‘Developing Vampiric Culture’
